SUSTAINABILITY IN BUSINESS
Our development towards becoming a more sustainable company requires appropriate structures, processes and responsibilities. Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate strategy so that economic, social and environmental aspects can be taken into account appropriately in all relevant decisions. Further information on the strategic handling of sustainability issues at JEAN MÜLLER can be found below.

Mission & Vision
We want to continue our more than 125-year tradition with sustainable and long-term competitive development, which is why we have established standards for quality, environmental protection and energy. We are certified according to ISO 9001, 14001 and 50001.
We want to secure the high depth of production at our Eltville site and JEAN MÜLLER’s strong regional value creation for the future, based in part on sustainable corporate management.

MANAGEMENT, CONTROL & MONITORING
At JEAN MÜLLER, sustainability is coordinated by a sustainability manager. Depending on the specific topic, other specialist departments provide support in implementing requirements and introducing or further developing necessary measures and processes. The management is involved in all important decisions.
All sustainability issues relevant to the company are continuously monitored and further developed, taking into account external requirements (e.g. from laws and customers) and internal standards and goals.

STRONG NETWORK FOR GREATER SUSTAINABILITY
We firmly believe that a company cannot operate sustainably on its own. Strong networks with business partners such as suppliers and customers are essential for this. That is why we transparently incorporate sustainability issues into our dialogue with our business partners and discuss possible solutions together. We also use our membership in ZVEI, the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association, to maintain and expand our network and to exchange and further develop our knowledge in the context of sustainability.

DECENT WORKING CONDITIONS AND A CULTURE OF VALUES
We have implemented a Code of Conduct (CoC) that provides guidance to employees and business partners on responsible and lawful conduct – not only for JEAN MÜLLER’s own sites, but also for our suppliers.
Our Code of Conduct serves as a guideline for responsible business practices. It serves as a common basis of values for all employees worldwide. The CoC defines relevant principles and the resulting requirements with regard to our responsibility for people and the environment. We require our suppliers to recognise the principles of our Code of Conduct (link to our CoC) on the basis of a risk-based approach. Either by signing our CoC or by presenting their own equivalent code of conduct.

GERMAN SUPPLY CHAIN DUE DILIGENCE ACT (LKSG)
The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) obliges companies in Germany to respect human rights by implementing defined due diligence obligations. Although JEAN MÜLLER is not subject to the legal obligations of the LkSG due to the size of our company, we nevertheless wish to implement this important issue to an appropriate extent. We have therefore decided to voluntarily conduct an annual risk analysis based on the requirements of the LkSG from 2024 onwards. To this end, we use, among other things, the Due Diligence Compass provided by the German Business and Human Rights Helpdesk. We describe the results of the risk analysis in our policy statement (link to our LkSG statement).
