Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AT JEAN MÜLLER
As part of the Agenda 2030 (link to the agenda), the United Nations set 17 global sustainability goals in 2015 – the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs influence the discussion on sustainability at national and international level. As a global framework for action and orientation, they provide guidance for the challenges of the 21st century.
Every core business of a company has the potential to enable sustainable corporate management, maximise positive effects and reduce potentially negative effects in the value chain. We have therefore analysed the SDGs from JEAN MÜLLER’s perspective with the aim of identifying those SDGs for which our business activities have the greatest leverage to positively influence or reduce potentially negative impacts.

SAFE AND HEALTHY COOPERATION
The health and safety of our employees is very important to us. We plan to implement ISO 45001 at our Eltville site in the 2025 financial year. We actively promote the health of our employees through preventive healthcare (occupational health check-ups), vaccination programmes, occupational safety, workplace reintegration (BEM) and various counselling services (EAP), as well as preventive and health measures (Wellpass).

TRAINING AND FURTHER EDUCATION
At JEAN MÜLLER, education is seen as an ongoing process that forms the basis for individual and social development. In addition to providing sound and comprehensive training that optimally combines theory and practice, we at JEAN MÜLLER attach great importance to continuous further education opportunities. This ensures that our employees are always up to date and can continuously develop their skills.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY MANAGEMENT
At our production site in Eltville, we have been using an ISO 50001-compliant energy management system for years and have already implemented various measures, such as installing PV systems and charging stations for electric vehicles, as well as investing in energy-efficient production machinery. Our products also play an important role in energy management in terms of their application: our switchgear, cable distribution cabinets and distribution boards are essential for a functioning and secure energy network.

EMPLOYER IN GERMANY
We have been based in Eltville in the Rheingau-Taunus district for over 125 years and are one of the largest employers in the region. With continuous investment in the development of new products and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, we ensure that safety-related switchgear ‘Made in Germany’ has a future.
To ensure compliance with human rights due diligence obligations in the supply chain, we voluntarily conduct an annual risk analysis based on the requirements of the LkSG (German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act).

SECURE ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE
Our products are part of a resilient and secure energy infrastructure, both in public spaces and in industry. Our electronic solutions in particular lay the foundation for smart distribution networks of the future. We stand for safety, expertise and innovation since 1897. In addition, we design our products to be retrofittable wherever possible, so that they always meet the latest legal requirements in the field of energy supply.

ECODESIGN AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Our products consist largely of metals and plastics. We develop and manufacture our products in such a way that the materials used can be recycled as effectively as possible. Waste prevention and reuse play a major role in the production of plastic and metal parts at our Eltville site. The long service life of our products, often more than 20 years, as well as our ISO 14001 certification, also contribute to SDG 12.
